EVENT: 2011 Quilt-a-Thon Wrap Up

2 May

On March 13, 2011 Wrapped Up in Sports held it’s 2nd Annual Quilt-a-Thon!
We were honored and proud to be able to spend the day quilting at Fenway Park and thrilled to see so many familiar and new faces who came out to quilt Red Sox Themed Quilts for the MGH Homebase Program.

The day started with a welcome speech from WUIS founder Kate McCullough.

We also had a fun visit from Wally, the Red Sox Mascot.
He sewed, cut material and posed for pictures!

Fenway also surprised us by bringing down the two World Series trophies and allowed all of the volunteers to pose for pictures.

Before the day was through we had a special visit from the folks over at MGH Homebase Program and the lovely Jacque Francona.

At the end of the day we were able to finish a staggering 60 quilt tops!

Thank you so much to all of our wonderful volunteers, sponsors, and especially Fenway Enterprises for allowing us to quilt in such an inspiring location.

Great post thanks for sharing. You have a great layout here. Quilting is something I really enjoy doing. It passes the time and is very relaxing.

Thanks for stopping by! Quilting is a great way to relax and pass the time, and in the end you have something useful, beautiful and that you can be proud of.
